Types of Low Carb Diet Plans
There are many types of low carb diet plans. However, following a specific low carb diet plan for weight loss is the best way to stay on a low carb diet. Therefore, this page will simply introduce you to the different types of low carb diet plans.
A basic low carb diet is an easy way to get started. However, as you continue dieting, you may want or need to get a more customized low carb diet plan to fit your lifestyle. For example, a person that lifts weights or works a strenuous job will need more protein in their diet. While a person will a sedentary lifestyle may get better weight loss results on a low carb low fat diet. And lastly, a person dealing with a pesky health condition, may opt for a strict low carb low sugar diet.
The Different Options:
1. Basic Low Carb Diet
The basic low carb diet is a good option for anyone wanting to lose weight. Therefore, with everything else remaining the same, as long as you are reducing your carb intake you will shed some weight. However, customized low carb diet plans can help you reach a weight loss goal. In this way, you can adopt a healthy way of eating instead of just yo-yo dieting.
2. High Protein Low Carb Diet
The high protein low carb diet plan is an effective and healthy weight loss method. Ideally, you should be eating sizable portions of healthy meats and other healthy high protein low carb foods. As a result, most of your calories with one of these types of low carb diet plans will come from proteins.
3. Low Carb High Fat Diet
If you have never been on a low carb diet before, the low carb high fat diet sounds like crazy talk. However, you will soon discover that a low carb diet will make the body very lean. Therefore, a low carb high fat diet plan is ideal for two reasons. First, it will help you feel full and satisfied after eating. And secondly, it benefits individuals that want to stay on a low carb diet and maintain some body fat or weight.
4. Low Carb Low Fat Diet
Unless you live a very sedentary life, I personally do not recommend the low carb low fat diet. If you are active, these types of low carb diet plans will result in rapid weight loss, low energy, and possibly other negative side effects. A low carb diet plan is for weight loss and will reduce body fat. Therefore, a low carb, low fat diet will result in an extremely lean body. As a result, to maintain an adequate caloric intake, the low carb low fat diet method requires a high protein diet.
5. Low Carb Low Sugar Diet
The low carb low sugar diet is the essence of being on a low carb diet plan. This low carb diet plan is recommended for people suffering from leaky gut syndrome, candida yeast, borderline diabetics, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERDS), or cancer. Please check with your health care providers before changing your diet. However, if you have already eliminated the bread, rice, potato, and pasta from your diet, reducing the sugar in your diet will help you lose even more weight and improve overall health.
6. Low Carb Vegetarian Diet
You really have to know food and nutrition to be on a low carb vegetarian diet. As a vegetarian, you essentially eat nothing but healthy vegetables and grains – both carbohydrates. Therefore, to manage a low carb vegetarian diet requires prior knowledge of the macro nutrients, essential amino acids, vitamins, and minerals that the body requires.
Once you start a low carb diet life, you can decide which option works best for you or switch it up according to your needs. For example, I consistently stick with option 4, but go back and forth between options 1 and 2 depending on my weight.
Once I get too lean, I implement option 2 – The Low Carb High Fat Diet. Then, when my clothes start getting a bit snug I back off option 2 and implement option 1 – The High Protein Low Carb Diet.
All are types of low carb diet plans for weight loss. However, each low carb diet plan will have its own unique benefits. If you do not have a unique low carb diet plan preference, you can select one of the basic types of low carb diet plans coming soon.
