A basic low carb diet is an easy way to get started. However, as you continue dieting, you may want or need to get a more customized low carb diet plan to fit your lifestyle.
For example, a person that lifts weights or works a strenuous job will need more protein in their diet. While a person with a more sedentary lifestyle may get better weight loss results on a low carb low fat diet. Alternatively, a person dealing with a pesky health condition may opt to be on a strict low carb, low sugar diet.

The basic low carb diet is a good option for anyone wanting to lose weight. Therefore, with everything else remaining the same, as long as you are reducing your carb intake you will shed some weight. However, customized low carb diet plans can help you reach a weight loss goal. In this way, you can adopt a healthy way of eating for life.
2. High Protein, Low Carb Diet
The high protein low carb diet plan is an effective and healthy weight loss method. The Atkin’s Diet is kind of high protein low carb diet. Ideally, you should be eating sizable portions of healthy meats and healthy low carb food combinations. As a result, most of your calories with one of these types of low carb diet plans will come from proteins.
3. Low Carb, High Fat Diet
If you have never heard of a low carb, low fat diet before it may sound like crazy talk to you at first. The ketogenic or keto diet is a low carb high fat diet. This kind of diet requires an extremely low carb diet. In this way, the body is force to use fat for energy instead of carbs. When this occurs, the body is said to be in ketosis. This kind of diet has side effects, but is known to make the body very lean. This kind of diet is beneficial for someone with cancer, diabetic metabolic syndrome, leaky gut syndrome, or candida yeast overgrowth.
4. Low Carb, Low Fat Diet
If you live a very sedentary life, the low carb low fat diet may be ideal for you. If you are active, this types of low carb diet plans will result in rapid weight loss and lean muscle. A low carb diet plan is for weight loss and will reduce body fat. Therefore, a low carb, low fat diet will result in an even leaner body. As a result, to maintain an adequate caloric intake, the low carb low fat diet method will ultimately result in a high protein, low carb diet.
5. Low Carb, Low Sugar Diet
The low carb low sugar diet is the essence of being on a low carb diet plan. For example, I consistently stick with a low carb, low sugar diet. However, I go back and forth between options 1 and 2 depending on my weight and activity. Once I get too lean, I implement low carb, high fat diet. If my clothes start getting a bit snug I back off a low carb low fat diet and resume a lean high protein low carb diet.
