This is a sample low carb diet menu for you to get an idea of what to eat. The great thing about being on a low carb diet is that their are no set rules for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Therefore, you can eat whatever low carb diet foods you want whenever you want them.

However, keep in mind that this sample low carb diet menu does not take your height, weight, level of activity, or any health problems into consideration. Therefore, depending on your current height, weight, and level of activity, you may need to eat more or less food. In addition, if your diet has restrictions like being on a low sodium diet, you must address this restriction as well.

The Body’s Fuel

Although eating is a very pleasurable activity, food is actually fuel or energy for the body. So, when we eat more fuel than we need, the excess is conserved and stored in fat cells. When we eat less than our body needs, the body will tap into our storage (fat cells) and use it for energy. This is how weight loss occurs.

Therefore, a tall and really active person may not get enough calories from using this low carb diet menu. They will have to adjust it for their dietary needs. In contrast, a short, lean person that lives a sedentary life may actually gain a few pounds if they eat everything on the menu.
