Fried Cabbage With Bacon Recipe

To me, a fried cabbage with bacon recipe is a low carb comfort food. On a low carb diet, this fried cabbage with bacon recipe can be eaten as a meal or a low carb side dish. For keto diet eaters, it can be a tasty low carb side dish. It is super easy to make.

You can easily adjust the flavor of a fried cabbage with bacon recipe by adding unique combinations of herbs and spices. Historically, I have seasoned a similar fried cabbage with bacon recipe with garlic, yellow onions, and black pepper. However, this particular fried cabbage with bacon recipe includes fresh cut cabbage, bacon, bell pepper, garlic, and onions.

Fried Cabbage With Bacon Recipe

Stove: Medium-High | Cook: 20-25 mins | Serves: 1-2

Ingredients:

1 c. Chopped Cabbage

1 Tbsp, Diced Bell Pepper

1 Tbsp. Chopped Green Onions

1/2 Tsp. Minced Garlic

1 Slice of Bacon (chopped)

1 c. Water or 3 Tbsp. Olive Oil

Black Pepper

Salt (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Using a skillet, add the bacon, bell pepper, green onion, and garlic.
  2. Saute the ingredients until the bacon is fully cooked.
  3. Low carb diet eaters can add cabbage, black pepper, and water to finish cooking the dish without any additional fat. Keto dieters should use olive oil for the added fat.
  4. Stir the mixture together and then cover with a lid.
  5. Stir occasionally to make sure that the cabbage cooks evenly.
  6. Once cooked, remove from the heat and enjoy while warm.

Conclusion
