Low Carb Chinese Shrimp and Broccoli Recipe

You can add this low carb chinese shrimp and broccoli recipe to your collection of low carb side dishes if you are on a keto diet. However, this recipe is actually a really simple and tasty low carb meal for people on a traditional low carb diet.

As usual, I made this quick and simple recipe on-the-go (in a hurry). While I prefer fresh, I had frozen broccoli in the freezer to use. So, I started by tossing shrimp and broccoli in a skillet. Next, I added ginger, garlic, and soy sauce. And finally, I tossed in a few pieces of shredded carrots just to add a little vitamin A and some color.

Low Carb Chinese Shrimp and Broccoli Recipe

Stove: Medium-High | Cook: 25-30 mins | Serves: 1-4

Ingredients:

16 oz. Fresh or Frozen Broccoli

15 – 20 Medium Shrimp (Thawed)

Shredded Carrots (optional)

1 tsp. Minced Garlic

1 tsp. Ginger Paste

1 tbsp Soy Sauce

1 – 2 tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1/4 c. water

Mediterranean Sea Salt

Preparation:

  1. Using a medium skillet, add olive oil, garlic, and ginger to the skillet.
  2. Place over medium-high heat and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add broccoli, shredded carrots, shrimp, sea salt, and soy sauce.
  4. Next, stir added ingredients until they are lightly coated with the warm olive oil mixture.
  5. And then, add water.
  6. Cover skillet for 20-25 minutes while stirring every 5-8 minutes.
  7. When the shrimp and broccoli is done, you can serve it in a bowl or on a plate.

Tip: If you are concerned about plating, you can add the soy sauce after the low carb chinese shrimp and broccoli recipe has finished cooking. In this way, the broccoli and shrimp will remain a bit more colorful.
