Sugar-Free Low Carb Drinks
As more and more people switch to a healthy low carb diet lifestyle, sugar-free low carb drinks have become more abundant. Therefore, you can probably find sugar-free low carb drinks at most of your local grocery stores.
However, not all sugar-free low carb drinks are equal.
Some may truly be sugar-free, meaning that they are made with no sugar and no sugar substitutes. While others will contain some kind of man-made “sugar substitute” to give it more taste. As a result, sugar-free low carb drinks can range from having no taste at all to a range of different more palatable taste.
In my opinion, some sugar-free low carb drinks taste really great! While others leave me wondering how they made the production line. The latter are usually the low carb drinks made without a sugar substitute. This is why I have learned to primarily drink water – it is hard to go wrong with it.
Nevertheless, I make it my goal to drink healthy low carb drinks. However, when it is hot or cold, sometimes I want to treat myself to a low carb drink with a little more flavor.
Therefore, this post will concentrate on those sugar-free low carb drinks that have taste! However, most are still what I consider to be healthy low carb drinks.
High Protein Ready-to-Drink Protein Shakes
High protein ready-to-drink protein shakes are excellent sugar-free low carb drinks. In fact, for many they are low carb meal replacements. The following list contains no added sugars, no gluten, and no soy. These are a great option for the active low carber that are on-the-go! You can also drink them as a pre-workout drink before going to the gym.
Without further ado, here’s a yummy list of high protein sugar-free low carb drinks.

The Fruit Drink Mix List
Since I usually always have a bottle of water with me, I have become a fan of the single serving on-the-go sugar-free drink mixes. I prefer a semi-tart tasting drink versus a super-sweet tasting drink. Therefore, my personal preference is for drink mixes with a lemonade blend. In fact, I often add more powder Vitamin C (100% pure ascorbic acid) powder to enhance the tartness.
The list below includes my favorite sugar-free drinks. They have only 5 – 10 calories, 0 fat, 0 protein, and only 1 – 3 carbs per drink packet. As stated earlier, you can find most of these at a local grocery store.
Then, I customize them to fit my taste. First, I dilute the extra sweet taste (in my humble opinion) by adding more than the recommended amount of water. Another option is to only use part of the sugar-free low carb drink mix. And lastly, I add more Vitamin C powder until it is tart enough for me.
If you enjoy sweet-tasting drinks, you will not have a problem finding sugar-free low carb drinks to fit your taste. Any of the above mentioned brands can likely help you get started on a low carb diet! Simply find one that sounds good and add it to a 16 oz. bottle of water.
Healthier Alternatives (Fruit Drinks)
The True Drink Mixes are a healthier alternative because they use all natural sweeteners and colorants. Therefore, they are free of man-made chemicals. They have a healthy taste that may require a little getting use to.
Nevertheless, they are palatable and healthier for you to drink than other sugar-free alternatives. They too have a great combination of on-the-go drink mixes available including: Mango Orange, Black Cherry Limeade, Peach Lemonade, Raspberry Lemonade, Original Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade, Wildberry Lemonade, Limeade, and Watermelon.
The True brand also sell a variety of natural flavor packets that can be added to waters, teas, and other drinks. These small packets are filled with all natural crystallized fruit juice. They are designed for you to add a little more flavor to your water or a little more kick to your tea. Some of the True flavors are Lime, Lemon, Orange, and Grapefruit. So, adding a lime flavor packet to your drink is like squeezing a small wedge of lime juice into your beverage.
Pure by Crystal Light is another healthier alternative to drinking sugar-free low carb drinks. They are sweetened with a hint of sugar and stevia leaf extract. Each drink mix serving contain about 1 carb. Like the True brand, they use natural sweeteners and natural colorants. Pure by Crystal Light also market a great combination of on-the-go drink flavors. The following flavors are available online including, but not limited to, Raspberry Lemonade, Lemonade, Tangerine Mango, Tropical Blend, Strawberry Kiwi, and Grape.
Juices & Sodas
Juice comes from fruits that are naturally sweet. So, bottled juices are typically full of sugar and really high in carbs. Nevertheless, there are plenty of sugar-free low carb drinks available in the form of sodas. Of course, my first recommendation is for you to drink high-quality H20 (water). However, diet sodas and low carb vitamin waters are another option for sugar-free low carb drinks. Just look for “diet” or “zero” on the front of the bottle. Then, double-check the nutrition label to see if it is truly a low carb drink.
