Bulletproof Coffee Review

The bulletproof coffee review will answer questions that many of you have about this low carb coffee drink.  As mentioned in an earlier post, I have been drinking a version of the “Bulletproof Coffee” for many years.  So, when I discovered the Original Bulletproof low carb coffee drink — I had to give it a try!

If there is such a thing as “clean” tasting coffee, this is it! Then too, it is in a very convenient to-go container which makes it a nice alternative to making it at home. Plus, they use a fractionated coconut oil so it can be enjoyed as a cold drink.

However, only the Original Bulletproof low carb coffee drink is low carb. It has only 5 carbs, while the others have 10 or more. I am very particular about my liquid carb consumption, therefore, it is the only one that I will be reviewing.

So, what is bulletproof coffee?

The Original Bulletproof low carb coffee drink is a certified clean coffee. In fact, this low carb coffee states that it has been tested and certified to be free of 27 toxins. In addition, this certified clean coffee includes what they call “brain octane oil” and a grass-fed butter to improve energy.

So, what is bullet proof coffee’s secret? First, they start with a certified clean coffee bean that contains fewer energy-sucking toxins. Next, they add a caprylic acid extract from coconut. And lastly, they blend it with a grass-fed butter.

I recommend the Original Bulletproof Low Carb Coffee drink to anyone on a low carb diet.

Original Bulletproof Coffee Benefits:

  • Certified Clean Coffee (free of 27 toxins)
  • Brain Octane Oil (increase mental clarity)
  • Grass-Fed Butter (steady, all day energy)
  • Low Carb Coffee Drink (11.1 fl. oz. = 5g Carbohydrates, 13g Fat, 1g Protein)

An additional bulletproof coffee benefit is that it is low carb, high fat. The “caprylic acid” that has been extracted from a coconut is just a chemical name for fractionated (liquid) coconut oil. Therefore, in theory, you should get the energy that most fats provide, but it will not help you maintain or gain weight.

If you are not familiar with some of the health benefits of coconut oil or if you are new to being on a low carb diet, the paragraph above may sound like crazy talk to you.

I’ll briefly explain both.

A strict low carb diet can make a person very lean. While there are many health benefits to being on a low carb diet, some low carb dieters opt for a low carb high fat diet plan. In this way, they can compensate for the low carb diet weight loss. You can read more about this information.

Coconut oil is an extremely versatile oil with numerous health benefits. However, in some ways it does not do what most fats achieve when consumed  which is increase body fat. In fact, research indicates that it actually causes weight loss.

Back to the bulletproof coffee review…

The Original Bulletproof Low Carb Coffee has a mild coffee flavor and smell. It does not actually taste like coconut oil and it is not oily. In addition, it does not leave you with a sugar-free aftertaste.

Since it is made with a liquid coconut oil, I prefer drinking it chilled instead of hot or at room temperature. Overall, it is a relatively smooth textured low carb coffee drink.

The label is accurate! It does give you more physical energy and mental energy than a regular cup of coffee. You can purchase the Original Bulletproof Low Carb Coffee online for a convenient on-the go version. However, now that you know the answer to what is bulletproof coffee, you can actually learn how to make bullet proof coffee! (Assuming you have not already made a cup.)
